I was concerned that the coffee would be a bit stale, and it was. I am an expert at this brand and type–I only drink Sumatra. I have been trying to find the cheapest way to purchase it, so thought I would try Amazon because with the free shipping, it is comperable, but it was not as fresh as even others I have had delivered.

Sumatra has a full, syrupy body with virtually no acidity – so the coffee’s intensity lingers in your mouth. The concentrated spicy, herbal notes and earthy aroma are the telltale signatures of this well-loved coffee. This is by far the best cup of coffee that I have found so far.

This coffee has a nice, smooth flavor. Even though it is an extra bold, but then again I like stronger coffees. This is strong, smooth and not bitter. I know some coffees that are strong can have a bitter flavor, but not the starbucks Sumatra. The smell of course is wonderful! I like the whole bean because grinding them at home, I can increase it’s flavor and it keeps the flavor fresh.

Sumatra coffee is one of the best coffees I have drunk. Use an extra fine grind (expresso)for a strong, bold flavor experience.

the price for 3 12-ounce bags at Amazon is higher than the price for 2 1lb bags on the sbucks website – with the free s/h at Amazon you save a whopping 10 cents over the sbuck price once you add their shipping. Why not walk/drive/send someone to the closest sbucks and save $6.50?
