Gingerbread Cupcake and an Espresso, Please

Even though these gingerbread cupcakes were beautiful without any further garnishes, I went in for some lemon buttercream to top them, dusted that with cinnamon and a little curl of candied ginger. Perfect thing to have a nice strong coffee with in our new and very cute espresso cups, which I meant to feature more prominently in this picture, but really, let’s face it, it’s all about the cupcake.
