It’s just extreme paranoia isn’t it? He can’t understand what anyone is saying and then once he gets his coffee he just wants to leave and thinks they’re all talking to him and looking at him and that jacket just gets really warm. That was my reading of it. Not that he’s criticizing the cafe going student population
