If I was successful cafe owner, I would start up a second cafe, and advertise it so that it was made purely for smokers. There must be some kind of loophole for that.

have smoking places and non-smoking places – that’s fair, and it’s how it was – anyone could have a non-smoking place. but where did everyone want to go? the smoking place … so they took away the choice and made everywhere non-smoking by law so the non-smokers wouldn’t bitch when everyone was somewhere else. it was always legal to have a no-smoking venue – ask yourself why it didn’t work …

I don’t like people who drive pointlessly huge cars either ;) they’re damaging the environment aswell. All cars cause pollution but there’s a difference between buying a reasonable sized car to get around from A to B and buying a HUGE massive one for no reason :|

It isn’t a hard concept. You can do what you want to your body just don’t inflict it on others. Smoke drifts through the air and thus inflicts itself on nearby people who may not wanna smell it / breathe it in. Drinking coffee dosn’t inflict itself on others around you

What does it mean to be ruined? Who is thinking of themselves? Eric and I want to smoke, but Karl doesn’t so Eric and I have to leave. I’m not saying you are entirely wrong. I understand the health concerns, but coffee’s not good for you either. So maybe we coffee drinkers and cigarette (pipes in my case) smokers can do so, while you drink orange juice at Subway.

ah the old days- when one could enjoy coffee and cigarettes in a cozy cafe. -I spent many days in this enjoyable way, the busybodies ruined that; such a shame. you cant even smoke indoors in France anymore I heard. God, how I hate the 21st century.
