post Category: Coffee post Comments (22) postAugust 9, 2011

800-CEO-READ have been honing their table tennis skills for some time, when we discovered that local biz Stone Creek Coffee were doing the same. In the spirit of healthy competition, we challenged them to a match – our table or theirs. With an even win/lose result, a rematch is in order. This video has us at their table. The next game will be on ours. Stay tuned for more! The appropriately active soundtrack is by Arnold Dreyblatt and the Orchestra of Excited Strings. Buy their records!

@bear24rw Nevertheless, this is awesome! I guessed you probably overlaid that sound as it was perfect quality compared to the picture.

@GameHacker0 Still not sure what kinda existing pcb you are referring to lol

@bear24rw Trying to understand why you needed to create a custom one rather then just an existing PCB that you can attach LED’s to. I haven’t read up, as I just found the TI Site in a news post. Which is why I am trying to figure out why you needed the logic buffer, and the drivers. Though I would wager a guess that it has to do with the instructions that you are sending it to.

@GameHacker0 What existing one?

@bear24rw Why did you create your own PCB rather then use an existing one?

@GameHacker0 The launchpad was given to us but that is only $5. The rest of the stuff cost around $450 (table, LEDs, custom pcb, parts, etc…)

Out of curiosity, how much did this whole project cost? Where the TI boards given to you or did you have to purchase them? This is pretty cool, and I am really interested in building one for my own house.

@Teckwiz Yeah, we had to overlay the audio because we took the videos with a phone (only camera we have) and the audio sounded terrible (if you look at the other two videos they are synced but have terrible audio).

Very very cool, is it just me or are the beats slightly out of sync on the second song? (Eyes on fire, Zeds dead)
