@anjumhassan Hi – Tapioca is a starch which tapioca pearls are made from. Sometimes they are called “starch balls” as well as “tapioca pearls.” I’m not sure what they would be called in Pakistan. I looked up and found that there are also “sago pearls” that are made from a different starch, which can be used as well. I think those may be easier to find where you are :)

@circutracer150 Well, my comment got taken down, or it just disappeared for some reason, but it’s a general suggestion by tea makers (I work at a giant tea specialty store actually), and they make it for a reason. You don’t need to squeeze the bag for flavour. The bitterness masks any flavour that is left. You get the flavour from the steeping process and not by squeezing the leaves. It’s a matter of personal taste to some degree (some folks like bitterness) but we suggest against it at work.

I nearly choked to death at the mall on one of those pearls lol

@AshillaBeige The milk cuts the bitterness drastically. That, coupled with the sweetened pearls, honey and sugar, eliminate any bitterness at all.
If you don’t press the tea bags, it will be too weak.

@AshillaBeige In my opinion it is a matter of your personal taste :) I like the bitterness and if u add some milk/cream and sugar or somer other sweet stuff it is actually pretty good :)

Wow, I didn’t realize it was so simple to make! I’ll have to do some searching for the tapioca pearls, but I want to try it– especially with jasmine tea, since that’s my favorite!

You need to have a show on the food network. You have a great personality and you shine on camera. I have watched every video you have and tried many of your recipes (all wonderful by the way), you need to be on television!

Hey David, i’m actually wondering if i should make a sort of golden caramel sauce instead of the condensed milk one, so that it’d be more crispier or something..think that’s a good idea?
