Julia and I took a walk to Oakleigh for breakfast and to grab a few groceries. We had breakfast a a new cafe and deli which was doing all their lasagne and pastitsio in the oven in the morning.

They had some flaounes, Greek Easter cheese pie, sitting on the counter, so we had one of those and a spanakopita for breakfast, along with a Greek coffee and caffe latte. The spanakopita was good, with quite a bit of spinach filling and small chunks of fetta cheese for that salty hit. The flaounes were a bit dry though. I’ve never had them before, so I’m not sure if that’s what they were supposed to be like, but dipped into the caffee latte, they were fine :P

After picking up some fruits, we tried to grab a loaf of bread and we were met with a queue of a dozen customers at Le Petit Pain eager to get their hands on loaves of warm crusty country style baguettes, the ones we usually get. At AUD2.10 each, they were a bargain! No wonder they were turning out a couple of dozen loaves every 5 minutes!
