MORNING CAKE!

MORNING CAKE! is both delicious and highly caffeinated. It was originally an attempt to make chocolate mousse torte after we had a nice one of those from Waitrose, but we decided to add coffee too. Lots of it.

We had our first helpings in the evening but it had us bouncing off the walls and everybody got a bit caffeinated and shouty. Had some for breakfast the next morning and found it sets you up really well for a bike ride or a busy day. Due to its caffeiney nature, MORNING CAKE! must be spelled with all caps and pronounced with shouting.

The base was a less exact science but involved digestive biscuits, butter, cream, dark chocolate and some very strong coffee.

Kim’s Chocolate Cake

When we were in South Africa in December we called in at a Coffee Farm just as they were closing. Whilst browsing the coffee and associated accessories in the amazing gift shop, I came across a keyring that had ‘Kim’s Chocolate Cake Recipe’ on it. Being a sucker for cake recipes I picked it up and baked it today. Amazing cake- super moist and oh so yum!
