People pick up sandwiches, teas and coffees from the serving counter and some like me come in for a late breakfast. I walk towards an empty table and hear the waitress talking with a familiar customer, ".. and we’ve been open for 31 years" she says, "some of those photographs look like they’ve been around since the 60s." he replies, I sit down and look at the photographs on the walls, many are autographed; June Whitfield (1925-), Tony Newley (1931-1999), Bonny Langford (1964-), Alan Davies (1966-) .. an easy-listening pop voice screeches quietly from low-cost speakers as I make some notes. Soon my order of egg & chips, tea and bread, arrives and I settle down to chew over old memories.
